Title: Capitalist Economic Progress from the Industrial Revolution to its Current Crisis Abstract: This paper studies the structure of the relations between: (i) industrial-capitalist economic practices of the nineteenth century, twentieth century and current times; (ii) practices of power and state administration of the developed states; and (iii) the modern and contemporary idea of progress. We analyze the impact that the great economic acceleration of the post-war has had on workers and the world's ecosystems, and the great crisis of economic model and worldview that takes place between 2008 and today. Finally, we will study the critical reformulations that are being made of the idea of progress from schools of thought such as ecological economics, degrowth and anti-capitalist social movements.
